Arrival in San Diego
We used the San Diego GO Pass to get us into the big theme parks and boy was it worth it! You can find this pass in 2 and 3 day versions on Groupon for the cheapest price. Use one of our Itineraries to make the most of the pass!
How To Get Around
Car: San Diego is a car city, especially if you’re visiting The Safari Park and Legoland.
Walking: While the weather is pleasant, you’ll be doing plenty of walking at your destination so no sense walking between them.
Taxi / UBER: UBERs are great in San Diego. Taxis are overpriced.
Public Transit: There is some public transit in the downtown area of San Diego, though we never used it.
San Diego Airport: This airport has some decent prices on international flights, though if you are a real penny pincher, might be worth it to fly into LAX (about 1.5-2 hours north) depending on the deals. The nice part about this airport is it lands right downtown near Balboa park so it’s easy to connect with the rest of the city.
We love Scott’s Cheap Flights for finding killer flight deals! You can also set an alert on Google Flights or use Hopper to track flight prices.
