Paradise Falls Hike in Thousand Oaks

Paradise Falls Hike in Thousand Oaks

Activity: Paradise Falls Hike. How to Get There: Plug Avenida de los Arboles into your GPS to find the main parking lot. Thousand Oaks is about an hour removed from LA but it feels like a world away! Cost: Free! Hours: Sunrise to sunset.

For Father’s Day I let Alex choose the activity. He chose to hike Paradise Falls in Thousand Oaks! Thousand Oaks is about an hour from our house, but it feels like a world away. We had to take the two worst freeways in LA to get there, but being in open space and actually completing a semi-strenuous hike was worth it.

This hike is about 1.5 mi there and 1.5 mi back and ends at a 40 foot waterfall. The terrain has a lot of hills, so we brought along our Piggyback Rider for when Lorenzo’s little legs got tired. The trail is really easy to navigate, just follow the signs for Paradise Falls. There are maps (and porta potties!) at the parking lot entrance if you want to take a different way back than the way you came. We did this and I was convinced we were lost, but Alex says we never were!
