Kid’s City Guides

We are all about making budget travel with children manageable and fun.

Parc de la Cituadella

Parc de la Cituadella

Activity: Parc de la Cituadella Metro Stop: Arc de Triomf. Cost: Free. Hours: Sunrise to sunset.

This is an amazing park! Don’t miss the big fountain in the middle designed by Gaudi himself (one of his earlier works). It’s attached to a beautiful restaurant that has since shut down. He built the whole thing for the World’s Fair, but they left it because people liked it.

We also found a fair amount of small playgrounds in this park. There is a good one to the left of the zoo entrance. Of course you can also visit The Barcelona Zoo in here. We didn’t end up visiting because we have zoo passes at home.

Make sure to stop by Barcelona’s version of The Arc de Triompf. It’s huge and red, you can’t miss it! We really enjoyed running up and down this open area. The ironwork lamp posts and palm trees are beautiful. There were a ton of street performers and a bubble man to entertain the toddler.
