Meet The Fam: Alex
I’m Alex and I am the father of this family. My role when we travel is navigator and gelato-spotter. I grew up in Austin, Texas. I am the second youngest of five children and two parents who have as much fun (sometimes more!) than most children. My first international trip was when I was called as a missionary to Seoul, South Korea. When I first got my call, I wasn’t even quite sure where Seoul was on a map! I learned Korean and served the people there for two years.
I returned to the United States and finished my degree at Brigham Young University in Chemical Engineering. I fit in trips to Peru, Germany, and The Czech Republic before graduation. I met Camille shortly after she had returned from a study abroad in London and I had returned from a service trip to Machu Picchu. We immediately had a lot to connect on.
I worked as a Chemical Engineer for a while before I returned to school at USF and got my Master’s in Data Science. This career took us down to LA, where I enjoy surfing before work and we both enjoy frequent cheap flight deals out of LAX. When I’m not playing with my family or working, I enjoy fixing up our 1950’s house, telling lame Dad jokes, and reading epic fantasy novels by Brandon Sanderson.
