Allmendhubel to Mürren hike and Flower Playground

Allmendhubel to Mürren hike and Flower Playground

Activity: Allmendhubel to Mürren hike and Flower Playground. How to Get There: Take the funicular up from Murren (on the Schilthorn line). Cost: CHF 10. Hours: Changes with the seasons, but approximately sunrise to sunset.

This hike is on the Schilthorn line and it was one of my favorite things we did in Switzerland. The hike goes from Allmendhubel to Mürren hike. We took a cute funicular up which was around $9/person and was very popular with the toddler who kept telling everyone in the car “choo choo!” The funicular dropped us off at the Flower Playground which was just about the most gorgeous playground I had ever seen. It was so scenic, we saw adults with no kids taking Instagram shots on the swings.

We walked past the Flower playground to get down. This hike couldn’t have been more different than the previous hike to Birg. It was all lush countryside and cows and had us both (alright mostly me) belting The Sound of Music at every vista.  I was lucky enough to see most of the hike three times due to having to backtrack for a dropped pacifier. At the three way fork with the yellow direction signs, take the middle fork. The middle fork meanders you down gently on a shaded path, the top fork is a dead end, and the bottom fork is the fastest, but it’s a steep grade gravel path. The hike is about 1.5 mi/2.4 km.
