Tibidabo: A Barcelona Amusement Park with a View!
Activity: Tibidabo Amusement Park. Metro Stop: See below. Cost: 28.50€/adult, 10.30€/kid. Also possible to go up and enjoy the view and ride a few rides for a couple euros without entering the actual amusement park. Hours: 11 AM-6 PM (9 PM on weekends).
The directions to get to this place are a little complicated, but if you have kids that are into transit, it will be super fun! From Placa del Catalunya, you take the green line to Peu del Funicular. From there, you take the funicular up up up the hill (our toddler loved this!) until you get to the bus stop at the top of the funicular station. Board the little red bus going uphill and it will drop you right at Tibidabo Amusement Park. The best part is your T-10 ticket is timed, so one ride will cover all of these transfers! Just make sure you have another ride on your ticket to get back down because there are no machines that dispense new tickets at the top.
Once at the top, there are a couple things to do. You’ll notice a massive church called Sagrat Cor. The church is beautifully placed atop the mountain and the viewpoint from the top is wonderful! We had fun dining at the Tibidabo Restaurant. Prices were surprisingly affordable and there are lots of kid-friendly tapas.
As far as the amusement park goes, there are two sections: the top section is free to enter and has a carousel with a few food stands. If you go downstairs, you will need to pay admission, but that’s where all the rides are! We actually didn’t end up going in because we were on a tight budget and it was cold, but we still managed to have a ton of fun at Tibidabo!
