Rue Cler and Musée Rodin With Kids
Activity: Rue Cler and The Rodin Museum. Tube Stop: Ecole Militaire. Start at the northern end of the pedestrian section or Rue Cler, at Rue de Grenelle. Cost: Covered by your museum pass, otherwise The Rodin Museum is 12 €/adult, 9 €/18-25, free for under 18. Hours: 10 AM-6:30 PM, closed Mondays.
Rue Cler Walk: This is a stroll down a traditional thriving Parisian neighborhood and market. Grab lunch here and wander. FYI from 1-3 PM these markets are closed. So if you are following one of our itineraries and you don’t get out of the Orsay Museum in time, visit The Rodin Museum and then do the Rue Cler Walk.
The Rodin Museum: The museum itself is forgettable, but the sculpture garden holds a large collection of fantastic sculptures by Rodin, including The Thinker. Best of all, there are big sandboxes for kids behind the house. Last entry at 5 pm.
Directions: You can likely walk here from the end of the Rue Cler walk. Just continue northeast on Avenue de la Motte-Picquet. If not, the metro stop for the museum is Varenne. The Army Museum and Napoleon’s tomb are near here and covered by your museum pass if you are interested and have time. My husband really enjoyed peeking into Napoleon’s Tomb!
