Evening Bus #69 Tour of Paris
Activity: Bus #69 Tour. Metro Stop: Ecole Militaire. Cost: One Metro card. Hours: 7 am - 12:30 am, tour is most beautiful after dark.
This tour works best right after a wonderful afternoon enjoying the Eiffel Tower. It’s time for a bus tour of Paris. No, not the red touristy busses. This tour is just as good and only costs one Metro card. Walk to the end of Champ Du Mars and find bus stop Rapp-La Bourdonnais. Get on the bus traveling west and take it all in. You should pass a ton of amazing monuments all lit up at night. The tour ends at Pere Lachaise Cemetery where Frederic Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, and Jim Morrison are buried. It will probably be closed by the time you visit, but make sure to visit it someday in the future cause it's awesome.
If you have the energy, get out of the bus at Musee de Louvre to see the pyramid all lit up at night! It's so cool, especially at night. Except I can never get it out of my head that Mary Magdalene is buried there. Thanks, Da Vinci Code. Just keep in mind that each exit costs one metro card. See our post on Paris: What to Know Before you Go to learn how the Metro system works.
Circle back around to see The Eiffel Tower lit up at night. At the top of the hour, it twinkles. Twinkles! When you see it twinkle, have your kids put any cameras and any distractions away. Stare at the lights and breathe in and out three times. You're really in Paris!
