Meet The Fam: Camille
Hi! I’m Camille! I’m the primary writer and photographer for Kid’s City Guides. I love learning about the world, writing about it, and sharing it! I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. I am the youngest of 8 siblings. I was lucky in that my dad took me traveling with him as a child. Before I left for college, we had traveled to England, Italy, France, and China.
I attended Brigham Young University in Utah where I studied Nursing and Gerontology. During that time, I managed to study abroad in London, Hawaii, and Taiwan. While home from college for the summer, I met my husband Alex. I was attracted to him for many reasons, but one major reason was his sense of adventure and fun. While we were dating, he kept a huge duffel bag of frisbees, games, and various other sporting equipment in the back of his car “just in case.” As newlyweds, we moved to San Francisco together where we took up surfing and continued to travel regularly.
Right before we had our first child, we moved to LA and we still live there. We have one son and another son on the way. When I am not traveling or mothering, I work part-time as an ER nurse. My other interests include reading fantasy novels (especially re-reading Harry Potter), musical theater, weightlifting, cooking, and asking Alex what time he is coming home from work.
